Saddle soap is a proprietary compound containing mild soap and softening ingredients such as neatsfoot oil, glycerin, and lanolin. It also contains beeswax to protect leather. It is used for cleaning, conditioning and softening leather. Leather Feeds and Balms are used after cleaning to replace the oils and waxes lost during use and cleaning and can considerably extend the life of leather. Neatsfoot oil is a yellow oil rendered and purified from the shin bones and feet (but not the hooves) of cattle. It is used as a conditioning, softening and preservative agent for leather.
